The purpose of the ShockStop, is to protect welders from the all-too-familiar hazard of electrical shock, when changing electrodes or through accidental contact of the energized electrode. ShockStop is a microprocessor-based solid state device that turns the power output from the welding machine on and off by sensing the actions of the worker operating locally or remotely from the welding machine.
ShockStop works with any direct current welder. No external power is required and the user does not have to do anything during the welding process other than what he or she normally does. ShockStop senses when welding ceases and initiates the protection.
